Mark Moody

Management Officer

Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Mark was for three years a travel writer and editor for the Let’s Go series of guidebooks.  He entered the service in 1995, and was first posted as General Services Officer in Chisinau, Moldova (1995-97).  Following that assignment, Mark was appointed sole Consul in Tbilisi, Georgia (1998-99).  Returning to Washington, he took an assignment as Post Management Officer in the Bureau of European Affairs (1999-2001), with responsibility for several EUR countries – Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

Mark next served a tour as Financial Management/Human Resources Officer in Zagreb, Croatia (2002-2005).  Subsequently, he was Management Officer in Libreville, Gabon (2005-07).

Mark was graduated cum Laude from Harvard University with a B.A. in Ancient History.  He was also a Fulbright Scholar, studying at the University of Latvia for one year before accepting the Foreign Service job offer.  He speaks fluent Russian and Croatian, as well as passable French.

Mark is married to Inna Moody, and has two children, William (7) and Maxwell (5).
