Ambassador Schulte's Comments to the Press

On Thursday, August 11, 2005, at the conclusion of a special meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors, Ambassador Gregory Schulte made the following remarks in a statement to the press:

"We expressed serious concern at Iran breaking the Paris Agreement and breaking the IAEA seals."

"We have urged Iran to stop its uranium conversion and we've asked Dr. El Baradei to give us a comprehensive report on Iran's compliance by September 3rd."

"This resolution by the BOG, which builds on 7 previous resolutions over the last two years, shows that the international community is united in its determination to move Iran from the dangerous course it is taking."

"We strongly support the EU-3’s efforts to find a negotiated solution."
