Amy Steinmann joined the U.S. Mission to International Organizations in Vienna as the Advisor for Public Affairs in August 2021. She serves as the Mission’s spokesperson and leads the office responsible for traditional and social media messaging and public outreach.
Amy joined the State Department in 2006. Her previous assignments include tours as the Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Consulate in Krakow, Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, as well as positions in Washington, D.C., Germany and Guyana. Amy attended the University of Delaware where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and American University in Washington, D.C., where she received a Master of Arts degree in International Conflict Resolution.
She hails from Queens, New York, and is accompanied in Vienna by her husband and their two children.
