The Mission’s UN Affairs Section manages the U.S. government’s engagement with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND), the UN Transnational Organized Crime Convention (UNTOC) Conference of Parties, the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) Conference of States Parties, and the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ). The UN Affairs Section liaises directly with the UNOV Director General/UNODC Executive Director. The United States contributes millions of dollars each year to support the work of these institutions to combat drugs, crime, and corruption. The United States is the single largest contributor to UNODC, providing roughly 30% of all extrabudgetary contributions and about 25% of its annual budget.
