The U.S. relationship with the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) is managed by the Mission’s Multilateral and Technical Affairs Section. UNOOSA is the UN office responsible for promoting international cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space, serving as the secretariat for the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS).
The Mission also administers a number of programs to share U.S. outer space history and policy and to facilitate the exchange of ideas related to peaceful uses of outer space.
